All the cool kids have a myspace page, but now the big corporations have caught onto the trend as well. Now you can add your mates to your network as well as your iPod!

Not only can you find the Blue Nano, but also the Green Nano and Pink Nano. Apple are definitely tapping into the viral nature of the site.

Blue Nano iPodThey are providing the visitors to the page with all of the tools to keep reminding themselves of the iPod brand:

  • Desktop wallpapers
  • Myspace backgrounds
  • Links to the Apple Store of course
  • The ‘Blue’ Screensaver
  • TV spots
  • Photo galleries
  • Background music
  • A link to the iTunes music store playlist that is playing

Clearly shown up the top of the page is the community features.

  • Add to Friends
  • Forward to a friend
  • Add to Group
  • Add to Favourites

At the end of the day it is purely a marketing strategy, and it seems to be working. Right at this moment the Blue Nano has over 7,407 friends. Does your business have a myspace profile? From t-shirts, to energy drinks and cars it’s there. For capturing the young demographic Myspace is currently the place to be and the good marketing people know it.

UPDATE: The South Australian Premier’s campaign extended to Myspace too! Honn Mike Rann left comments around a number of profiles of those who were young but just old enough to vote. He was seen commenting on an image saying

“A good suit can be worn at any time - even during recreational activities. Looking smooth lads.

Vote LABOR!”

UPDATE 2: There are plenty more brands creating Myspace profiles. Such as the Product (RED) campaign and Nike Soccer.
